Posted by After install/deploy ZeXtras chat, you can backup the history of chat (include buddy list) on ZxChat and restore them if someday you need to restore. This method also used after migrating Zimbra to Zimbra that usually i am doing in my client who use ZxChat (in old server). Please backup zxchat folder that located in /opt/zimbra/conf/zextras. If you want to restore zxchat in new server, please copy zxchat folder to the new server
– Please make sure you have installed ZeXtras core in new server
– Please make sure you have deployed ZxChat zimlet in new server
– Copy zxchat folder from old server to the new server use rsync
rsync -av /opt/zimbra/conf/zextras/zxchat root@zimbra-on-new-server:/opt/zimbra/conf/zextras/
Please login to Zimbra webmail and check whether buddy list has been migrated (restore) or not.
